And YOU can help to make it the best one yet!

📅 Sunday, April 12th

We’re thrilled to announce this year’s Ice Show — and we need your help to make it spectacular! Volunteers are essential to every stage of the process, from planning the show to bringing it to life on the big day.

🌟 Planning Committee

Join our creative team to help coaches and board members design a show to remember! From choosing the theme and music to dreaming up set designs, this committee gets started right away.

👗 Costume Committee

Once the theme is set, the magic begins! Help plan, source, and organize the costumes that will make our skaters shine on the ice.

🎟️ Show Day Volunteers

When show day arrives, this amazing crew keeps everything running smoothly — from ticket and program sales to performer flower sales, dressing room supervision, and getting each group on the ice right on time. It truly takes a village to make the show happen!

CanSkate Table Volunteers

We’re looking for volunteers to help at the CanSkate table on Sundays, Mondays, or Thursdays.

Session times:

  • Sundays: CanSkate 10:00–10:45 AM, followed by PreCanSkate 10:45–11:15 AM
  • Mondays: PreCanSkate 5:30–6:00 PM, followed by CanSkate 6:00–6:45 PM
  • Thursdays: CanSkate only, 6:00–6:45 PM

Volunteer duties include:

  • Setting up the CanSkate board and nametags (tables provided by the Summit Centre)
  • Taking attendance (using leftover nametags)
  • Handing out stickers and collecting nametags after the session
  • Greeting skaters and answering basic questions

Don’t worry — we provide a notebook to record any questions or concerns that a board member should follow up on.
Most days, the board and tags will already be set up when you arrive.

Please plan to be at the table about 30 minutes before the session starts to greet families and help direct skaters to changerooms if needed.

🎵 Playing Music for StarSkate Sessions

It’s a great asset and bonus for our coaches when we have a volunteer at the music station during StarSkate sessions.

Instructions will be provided — and rest assured, it’s easy to do! You don’t need to be part of a StarSkate family to help out; anyone who enjoys watching our figure skaters show off their skills is welcome to volunteer.

Session times:

  • Sundays: 8:30-9:45 am
  • Mondays: 3:30-5:00 pm or 6:45-7:50 pm
  • Thursdays: 3:30-4:45 or 5:00-5:50
